Golden Bell Donuts - The Best Donuts in San Mateo, CA

I've drove past this place a few times but never stopped I don't eat donuts all the time. However today I decided to stop and the donuts are some of the freshest softest best tasting donuts I've ever had. I will be stopping here regularly now and you should as well if you want some donuts that are made with love.

It's a hole foods kinda place. All the basics of donut world await. We ordered special 3 dozen mini jelly filled donuts...filled donut holes actually small sufganiyot for chanukah... all you can ask for in a donut! Not greasy!

Lovely mom and pop shop with lots of regulars and smiling faces. Got a dozen donuts and they were a hit with the family. Their muffins aren't bad either. Parking is a bit tough sometimes, but if you don't mind a walk, you can park along the street or in the plaza a block away. Seating is limited. This is really a stop and go kind of place

This place is an absolute gem for early morning breakfast. Their doors open as early as 4:30 am, catering perfectly to early risers. I had the pleasure of trying their Croissant sandwich, and it was delightful. The freshly baked donuts were also a highlight of my visit. It feels like a family-owned establishment, with just two dedicated individuals putting in great effort to make this place a success. The cozy ambiance and friendly service make it a wonderful place to start your day.

Freshest donuts ever. Try the Old Fashioned or French Cruller. You will be surprised how good a donut can be!

Charming local donut shop with fantastic pastry and donuts, plus. And the coffee was great. I had the apple fritter and hubby had two donuts, which were amazing. Lovely place, super busy, just great.

I’ve had donuts from all over the country and hands down this is my fave place. Soft, fresh, warm and fluffy donuts. Glazed, powdered, frosted, jam filled, krullers, old fashioned you name it they got it. My daughter adores their chocolate muffin and their breakfast sandwiches are really good to if you want a more savory start to the day. You can see the parents in the back and the 2 sons working the front and they somehow seem to know everyone in line and remember their favorites! Definitely a local gem. There are a few tiny tables (about 6 people can sit down at any time). Parking is tough - if lucky enough to get one of the parking spots go you but might want to street park or at the plaza down the block instead. Oh, and a little kid dropped their muffin and started crying, and one of the sons promptly went and gave a fresh new one to her free of charge. So sweet both literally and figuratively!
